The Roaring Fork River lives up to its name, delivering an unforgettable rafting experience through some of Colorado’s most stunning mountain landscapes. From serene floats near Aspen to adrenaline-pumping Class III-IV rapids downstream, the Roaring Fork offers something for everyone—from families to seasoned whitewater enthusiasts.
The river begins high in the Rockies near Independence Pass, meandering gently through Aspen’s pristine valleys before gathering strength as it flows toward Glenwood Springs. Along the way, rafters are treated to crystal-clear waters, dramatic canyon walls, and views of snow-capped peaks that make every paddle stroke a feast for the senses.
The journey often starts near Woody Creek, where the river offers a mix of calm stretches and mild rapids, perfect for warming up. Further downstream, the river gains intensity as it carves through the Slaughterhouse section—a heart-pounding stretch of Class III-IV whitewater with tight turns, steep drops, and exhilarating wave trains that demand skill and teamwork. For those seeking a tamer adventure, the Middle Roaring Fork provides gentle Class II rapids and opportunities to spot wildlife like deer, eagles, and even the occasional bear along the banks.
Whether you’re navigating the thrilling rapids of Slaughterhouse or enjoying a relaxing float with your family, rafting the Roaring Fork is more than just a river trip—it’s a celebration of Colorado’s wild beauty. Amazing experience out in the river for an afternoon. Tucker picked us up from our hotel in a shuttle right on time and delivered all safety information to the group. Our guide was Marina for a group of 6 & ensured we enjoyed our experience. Lots of communication before and throughout the ride, which helped calm my nerves about the ride. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in enjoying a beautiful view of the river & mountains.

I was picked up this morning by Dan & Anna at my hotel the Jerome & taken out to the river & met up with my fellow rafters. Learned the ins & outs about what lay ahead. We did an adventurous tour & had an awesome time. Dan is a great leader & Anna took care of the stuff in the Van & was responsible for the rides pictures that will be available tomorrow. The water was fast moving and a brisk 38 degrees. Will do it again.
